Slow speed engines

The products offered by the MAN (former MAN B&W Diesel Group) comprises large diesel engines for ship propulsion and power stations as well as GenSets, rail traction and turbochargers. The programme contains standard solutions and customised concepts based on diesel engines.

The two- and four-stroke engines produced by the Group and its licensees are global market leaders in propulsion systems for large seagoing vessels.

The Group is also one of the leading suppliers of diesel power plants.

The world market-leading two-stroke MC engine programme from MAN B&W Diesel has evolved since the early 1980s to embrace bore sizes from 260 mm to 980 mm for propelling oceangoing ships of all types and sizes.

Enhancing the overall programme, electronically controlled ME engine versions of the same well-proven engine designs were recently added to the product range.
